Work Performed
Pretty Parlor was losing sales due to the lack of an online store.
At the start of 2020, Pretty Parlor was a brick-and-mortar retailer without an ecommerce store on their website. With government-mandated restrictions to slow the spread of COVID-19, an online store became key to surviving.
Short Timeline
Managing Inventory In Two Locations
Technically Outdated POS
The existing in-store point of sale system was not compatible with ecommerce or cloud inventory management.
Driving Sales
Online sales needed to get off to a quick start using a limited marketing budget. Pretty Parlor also needed to reach beyond its local customer base.
Expedited Development
Spin Digital Consulting integrated EooCommerce ecommerce functionality with the existing WordPress website. A staged development approach was used to launch core functionality followed by items such as gift cards and product search capabilities in secondary phases.
Cloud Inventory Management
To manage inventory between the retail location and website, a cloud inventory management system was integrated. One system ensures inventory synced in real-time.
Launched Square POS
Square was selected as the in-store point of sale solution due to its ease of use and ability to be the website’s payment gateway.
Drove Sales Through Instagram
WooCommerce was integrated with Instagram Business to create shoppable posts. This integration brought Instagram’s strengths, storytelling, and lifestyle right into Pretty Parlor’s buying process.
Expedited Development Timeline
Once the cloud inventory management system and in-store POS were selected, the timeline for integration to launch took three weeks.
Accurate Inventory
With over 3000 SKUs in the inventory, there has only been one online sale of an out-of-stock item.
Time Savings
Upgrades to the overall inventory management and sales process included automated pricetag printing with barcodes. In a typical week, this saves approximately 6 hours.
Online Store Traffic
In the first quarter (Q4 of 2020) Instagram shoppable posts account for 41% of the online store’s traffic.
